MORTGAGE BROKER IN HULL – NO BROKER FEE

Meet the Team

Paul

My name is Paul and I set the business up in May 2018 from the garage in my home. I didn’t expect the business to become so popular and so quickly too. It was not long before I had to call on the expertise of my Sister-in-Law (Emma) to help with the running of the office.

The name of the business ‘I Am A Mortgage Broker’ came to me out of a need to be absolutely transparent about what I do. I didn’t want it in anyway to be confusing. I had once watched an episode of the Junior Apprentice in which they had to market and brand a bottle of water. They opted for the name of ‘A Bottle of Water’ – I loved the concept and applied it to this business. A friend of mine once said to me ‘Paul – Just because it say’s OXO on the side of a bus, it does not mean that it is full of gravy’. I think that he was trying to say that things are not always as they appear to be… but with this business it is… I really am a mortgage broker!

Paul - I am a Mortgage Broker Hull

I have worked in finance for over 10 years and originally started working for Lloyds TSB as a Personal Banking Manager before moving on to become both a Financial Consultant and a Mortgage Advisor within the branches. I left the bank in 2015 to join a local mortgage brokerage called Hull Money Man where I learnt the skills needed to understand a wide range of scenarios and solutions to mortgage enquiries.

The business has gone from strength to strength, and we have been lucky enough to have 2 new colleagues join the team (Christian & Jessica)

I’m an absolute family man and adore my 2 children (Alfie & Lydia). I am married to my wife (Sally)… and I guess that she is ok too.

I have dedicated a lot of my life to writing and performing my own music. I have played in bands since I was around 12 years old and have played at musical events such as the Leeds Festival, The O2 Festival and have supported acts such as Shed 7, The Who and Travis. My band has recently performed the theme tune to the TV Show ‘Meet the Richardson’s’
